So much for what the so-called "analysts" think. L.A.- based research firm Interpret completed a survey of over 15 million people to find just what consumers are willing to pay for the gaming goodness. The results were, well, not quite what the analysts expected.

8.9 million said they would willingly pay out the full price of the PlayStation 3. Another 5.7 million said they would be willing to pay $250 for the Nintendo Wii while a mere 800,000 said they would go for the XBox 360.

Going by this it seems the only thing holding Sony back from dominating the next-gen console wars is availability of the PS3 itself. Then again, it's proably logical to have less going for the 360 considering the number of units already out there. The Wii can be considered a spoiler of sorts- while cheaper and les powerful it will have enough games to appeal both to younger and hardcore gamers.
