Those of you in the UK and Europe that don't want to wait for the march 2007 launch will be having a harder time of it than originally planned. Sony says they will use "the full scope of the law" to discourage importing the system from Japan or North America. Sony recently won a case against importer Lik-Sang who was selling imported PSPs in the European region.

Sony says they are "trying to protect consumers from being sold hardware that does not conform to strict EU or UK consumer safety standards." Might sound good as an official justification but most know it more likely to protect local sales.
