Some news for those in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The PlayStation 3 will be launching in those countries on November 17, the same date as the North American launch. According to Tetsuo Yasuda, SCEA's Asia managing director, the 60 GB model will be available on November 17 at a price of NT$17,980 (USD $534) and the 20 GB will be available in December at NT$14,980 (USD $452).

Yasuda figures the 60 GB model, despite the price difference, will be more popular due to the larger capacity and wireless capability. There's been no word yet on a version of the PlayStation Network for that region as of yet. It is unknown at this time how many units will be shipped to those countries for the launch.
