Less than a month ago a Sony rep said they would provide a service for replacing the controllers when the rechargeable battery no longer functioned properly. Now, it looks like that has changed a bit- it looks like they will want us to remove the batery ourselves and send that back.

It still hasn't been clarified as to the full details of the policy. Meantime Sony wants to show everyone how simple it is to take the battery out. Just unscrew the 5 screws on the back of the controller, pull back the casing and disconnect the battery.

Sony has said these batteries should last for a few years so this shouldn't have to be done too often (unless things have changed there too).
