Well it seems Denmark have
finally got themselves sorted out and have begun using a weekly sales chart of all games and hardware sold.
The chart has been trialed for six months with the first Official Chart dated January 9th. No real surprise to see what was the first official best selling full price game; none other than Electronic Arts' Need For Speed Carbon, with THQ's Cars the best selling budget priced game.
The chart will be compiled from the following Danish Retailers:
- B.O. Bøger
- Blockbuster
- Coop
- Dansk Supermarked
- EB Games
- F Group
- Game
- Merlin
Peter Weile, managing director of Multi Medie Foreningen (who commissioned the UK and Ireland chart body, Chart Track, to create the Danish chart), had this to say, "For the first time we now have access to independent market retail data and we see this as a major step forward for the Danish games industry."
