Default ALL - Metal Gear Solid Hits Big Screen

One of the game series that a number of players would like to see turned into a movie is Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid. Back at E3 2006 Konami broke news via a pamphlet for Studio Kojima that early work was underway to make this a reality. Up until today it was unknown who would get the license.

Fast forward to today and the D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sony Pictures Entertainment vice chairman Yair Landau confirmed that their studio is developing the project.

"We're working with the Metal Gear guys," Landau told GameSpot following his D.I.C.E. summit keynote address in Las Vegas. "It's a very cinematic game, it really lends itself to movie telling. But the question is, 'How do you translate Snake's experience into a full arc that conforms to what audiences expect on the large screen?'"

He also hinted at other projects such as a movie based on EverQuest. He left it up in the air as to who was heading that as producer, saying "I'll let him disclose that."

Lets hope that Uwe Boll doesn't get to produce or direct it.

It's about time James Cameron did an epic film

Cool Re: ALL - Metal Gear Solid Hits Big Screen

I know it's an obvious choice, but I wonder if it would be possible to let George Lucas do it; afterall he is practically mister "big movie" isn't he? Imagine the scale of the film if LucasArts worked on it. Star Wars (original trilogy + possibly Ep4) but with Metal Gear Rays and Rex etc...
I wonder who would play Snake
Perhaps they could get the likes of Arnie to do it. Afterall, he looked/looks the part in The Terminator films.
Probably end up with a Japanese set of actors. Maybe put Jackie Chan as Snake lol

Actually, Hugh Jackman might be a good choice for Snake plus he has the action movie experience. As for director, I think it's a safe bet Sony won't have Boll anywhere near it- he can stick to his low-budget pieces of crap.

Looking at your choices, Jason, are you possibly related to Uwe Boll?
