Default ALL - TransFormers: the Movie Game Details

As some of you may be aware there is a TransFormers live-action movie coming to theatres this summer. As one would expect, there is a game tie-in as well. There will be versions available for all Sony systems (PS2, PS3, PSP) as well as the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii.

The PSP version may be a bit different than the console version but will feature 4 player local (ad hoc) multiplayer.

Something different for this game from past attempts is the ability to play as the Decepticons as well as the Autobots. Certain characters will be unplayable such as bosses or other important characters. Because of this it is possible to have the Decepticons win the battle. There will be some unlockable characters, not all of which appear in the movie.

We will be seeing some Generation 1 references throughout the game as well as some in-game ads (ugh). You'll find Burger King and Pepsi references in the game.

The enviroments are very interactive. You'll be able to pick items up such as signs to attack enemies with. Gameplay is a bit in the GTA style as you can go around the city freely. While in Robot form, however, the surrounding humans will tend to panic and you'll attract the attention of the authorities if you make too much of a mess. You'll be able to jump, shoot and punch while in Robot mode as well as transform at any time to drive/ fly at will. Auto targeting will be available.

Overall this game is sounding fairly interesting. It's expected to hit store shelves during Q3 2007.
