The PS3 seems to be setting record numbers for preorders as the launch date gets closer. According to reports by Digital Spy, Woolworths have said they were taking an order every 20 seconds over the past week.

Gerry Berkley, head of games at Woolworths, said "It's the hottest gaming system since the PS2 launched in 2000 - demand will outstrip supply." Even with the hiked up price compared to other regions (the US price translates to about GBP 125 cheaper) gamers are determined to get the PS3 on March 23.

Places like GAME & Gamestation have been given a cut-off date of Friday 16th Feb from Sony to GUARANTEE a PS3 unit on the day of release (with a £50 deposit) - Hope it's not going to be shades of PS2

Staff in GAME were pushing people as they were coming into there shops to put a deposit down for the PS3 as a little bird told me that they were on a huge bonus scheme for units pre-ordered & sold. After the 3rd staff person came up to me even before I got time to browse for a new game title I asked for the manager & told him to stop letting the staff pester customers and if they want to order a PS3 they will do it on there own terms & not be pressured, If I wanted to pre-order one I would have done it ages ago and in Gamestation for £20 (I know the people in there)

Heard the same info from other sources Chris... looks like everyone will get one who orders this week, which is brilliant news after having to wait so much longer than the rest of the world. Although I haven't heard anything from Amazon... have you ? (they really messed people about with the 360 launch)

With trying to save for the wedding and honeymoon anad then with planning the move and saving for that i think its easily gonna be the back end of the year before we think about it
