Default PS3 - Under £400?

So hands up, who bought a Playstation 3 console within the first day or two of its launch over here in the UK?
Well I'll put my hand up as I was one of them.

Next question: Who paid £425 for the console (possibly more if bought as a bundle)?
Again, I'll put my hand up for that (I actually got a bundle that had the console, Blu Ray remote, second controller and Ridge Racer 7 for £499.99).

Anyway, what's the actual point of these questions? Well if you just couldn't wait to get your hands on a console, like myself, then it seems you've missed out on an opportunity to buy the console for £399.95.

Yes you read that correctly. There is a Manchester based company that has decided to enter the gaming market.
A company called Aria Technology has moved from just selling computer components to selling the PS3.

On its site it states that the PS3 is "A gaming monster..." and that "The Playstation 3 is now in stock and is under £400!!!"

The actual price is shown at £340.38 exc VAT and £399.95 inc VAT.
I guess if you get things VAT free then you may even be able to purchase it for the super low price of £340.38 as long as you provide your VAT exempt number.

So, my point is this.
With the PS3 becoming the second fastest selling console of all time (second only to the launch of Sony's handheld console the Playstation Portable [PSP]), what will Sony themselves do when they hear about the console being sold for such a low price?

As always, we'll keep you updated on any new information that comes our way regarding this being a one off (like in Japan) or the start of something big.
