With the success of the two Lego Star Wars games it wasn't a question of if another Lego game would come but when. Warner Brothers Interactive has now confirmed that Traveller's Tales, the developers behind the previous games, will be making a Lego-ed Batman game.

The release date is unknown other than sometime in 2008 and will be for "next-generation and current generation platforms". "We're sure our fans will be excited to know that we have the same fantastic team at Traveller's Tales responsible for LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Star Wars II working on LEGO Batman," said Tom Stone of Traveller's Tales.

The game plot will be fairly straightforward- the residents of Arkham Asylum (where many of batman's foes are usually incarcerated) have escaped and it is up to Batman and co. to track them down. I would expect the same level of humor found in the Star Wars games, which will mix in perfectly with the campiness that the Batman tv series is known for, along with plenty of vehicles to build and "those wonderful toys" in the utility belts.
