Default ALL - Sega Grabs More Marvel Properties

Sega has just grabbed the rights to three more Marvel Comics characters- The Incredible Hulk, Captain America and Thor.

The game based on Hulk should be in stores around the same time as the upcoming movie sequel. Movies of the other properties are further off so no word on a timeframe for them.

"As SEGA continues to create games that are built from the ground up to appeal to Western audiences it makes perfect sense to work with a powerhouse like Marvel," said SEGA of America boss Simon Jeffery.

"Fans can now not only watch them in movies and read about them in comic books, but also literally control their actions through the videogames we are creating."

Sega also is the holder of the rights to games based on Iron Man. That game should be available in summer 2008, when the movie is slated to arrive in theatres.

Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel stated that the two companies have found working together to be a positive experience.

"We have already seen SEGA's passion for the Marvel Universe through the early development of the Iron Man videogame, and we look forward to working closely with them over the next few years to maximize the potential of these franchises in the interactive entertainment space."
