There are a lot of people waiting not-so-patiently for the next installment of the Guitar Hero series to arrive in stores. We've just found another reason to get excited about the game.Rock guitar legend Slash from Guns N' Roses will be available as a playable character in the game- but you are going to have to earn him.

Here's how it will work. First you have to beat every song in the game. Once this is accomplished you have to go against Slash in a guitar duel. Beat him, you get to play as him. I'll wait a moment for the thought of you playing guitar against him in a competition to sink in.

Guitar Hero 3 comes out later this year on the PS2, PS3, XBox 360 and the Wii.

That's pretty awesome. Slash is a decent guitarist

Too bad I'll never unlock him. I am not that good at Guitar Hero... not good enough to beat all the songs in the hard mode... then have to beat HIM too. I'll pay $2.00 for the DLC version of Slash though. That'd be easier wouldn't it?
