How many of you got interested in seeing that slimmed down PlayStation Portable during Kaz Hirai's segment in the E3 press conference? Those of you in Europe that seen this and figured "big deal, E3's for North America only" you'd be wrong.

It's been officially announced the redesigned PlayStation Portable is coming to Europe this September at a price of €169. This was originally announced last week by SCEE Chairman David Reeves during E3 and has just recently been confirmed by Sony themselves. The launch date is set for "early September". Japan, meanwhile, doesn't get its collective hands on it until September 20.

For those that missed the changes to the system the new PSP will be 20% slimmer and about 33% lighter as well as have longer battery life between charges. For those that want to see their games on the big screen that is now possible thanks to an added video out port on the system.
