Those of you patiently (or not so) waiting for the release of John Woo presents Stranglehold are advised to resist the temptation of importing the PlayStation 3 version.

According to Echo77, the username of one of the moderators at Midway's official Stranglehold forum, the PlayStation 3 version will be region coded, Translation? The game won't work on PS3s outside of the region it was meant to. If you are in the UK and have a PAL PS3 the North American version will be useless to you.

The game is slated to come out September 17 in North America in 2 versions, the normal game and a "Collectors Edition" which comes bundled with the movie Hard Boiled starring Chow Yun-Fat. The Collector's Edition is currently only going to be available in North America.

The game has players playing the role of Chow Yun-fat as Inspector Tequila in this videogame sequel to the movie. Woo fans can expect much of the same sort of action found in the movies.

in a bit of related news it look as if both the XBox 360 and PC versions of the game will be region free.

I might get the collectors edition i think the game looks awsome.
