Some good news from the official PlayStation Blog on their North American site- Warhawk has officially gone Gold and is now in production for release on August 28. This comes directly from Dylan Jobe, Game Director.

He gives some other bits of information. The game will be priced at $39.99 US for the PSN download or, for those wanting the Blu-Ray disc version, it can be had for $59.99 US. The retail version includes expanded video content and a JABRA bluetooth headset. Both versions will be available simultaneously.

A bit of news for those that were in the beta test. After looking through all the stats they have settled on who they feel are the top 100 players. This was ultimately determined using the Bonus Points as it covered all play modes, levels, weapons, etc.

These 100 people are going to have a surprise coming in the mail, a "top beta testers" award. Those players will each be getting a copy of the Warhawk box art signed by the entire team PLUS a Warhawk Wings pin! Copy the URL below to have a look for yourselves:

Nice bit of a bonus, I'd say. i know there were a few here at AP that were in on the beta- if you are one of the lucky few, congrats!

Yeah, its nice for something to be released early instead of delayed isnt it...

Especially Warhawk, i have been waiting for this, it looks like one of those addictive games, that you just cant stop playing, and apparently, quoted from the PS Blog, that the beta-testers clocked up an average of 70 hrs on the game.... So i'm sure i'm going to clock up at least that...

Cant wait for August 28th, i'll be getting the blu-ray disk version...

Any idea when it will be out in Europe Lyndon... we dont want you guys getting too much of a head-start on us do we !

Can't find anything other than Q3 2007 so it should be either at the same time or within a few weeks of the North American release. One thing i'm wondering is is the online play global (like RR7) or set up regionally? It would be great to have an AP match set up for this.

I thought it would be the same time. It better be, please.....

And its gotta be global play, the whole game is online so surely they've got all of that stuff in there.....

I really cannot wait for this....

And the Blu-ray version includes expanded maps and better video-quality aswell, so i am now definitely getting the Blu-Ray version....

Can't wait for Warhawk to come out. Hopefully the developers fixed all the bugs. I got into the beta and everytime I played the game it would crash my PS3 as well as the majority of other beta testers according to the PS3 blogs. Other than that, the game is pretty sweet.
