Looks like midway has had a change of heart regarding the upcoming game John Woo's Stranglehold. Originally the game was set to be region coded, meaning the North American release would not play in PAL PS3s and vice-versa. Now, however, that will not be the case and the game (no matter where it was originally meat for) will work in any PS3.

It should be noted Midway has made it clear that the Blu-Ray version of the movie Hard Boiled (starring Chow Yun-fat) will only be released with the North American version of the game. Those of you wanting this from outside NA will have to import. Of course, chances are good the movie will not work on PAL PS3s anyway.

Stranglehold is a video game sequel to the movie hard Boiled, which starred Chow Yun-Fat as Inspector Tequila. Players take his role and play their way through the game pulling off moves normally seen in the movie to blast their way through the criminal underworld. The game is currently set to release on September 17 in North America in a regular and a Collector's Edition (which included the movie). The UK/ Euro version hits shelves September 21.

Hasnt Hard Boiled got one of the biggest body counts of any movie? the gun play in it is fantastic, a wonderful last man standing sort of film.
