It's basically Tools of Destruction with another coat of paint and a new set of dialogue. Luckily, ToD was lots of fun, so there you go.

Aren't most sequels "a coat of paint with new dialogue"?

This one, however, has enough differences to it to be more than just a "coat of paint" as you put it. The time based puzzles found in the Clank segments along with the improved space travel Ratchet segments move things up a couple of notches from what the last game provided.
