The Cheese Video Box was designed to transform any VGA monitor, TFT Display, or LCD panel into a high quality Video Monitor for viewing standard analog video signals.

Ergonomics:

The Cheese Video Box is a nice compact unit that actually looks like a big piece of cheese. The main base is yellow with two Video Input jacks, two DB9 connections, a power jack, a switch, and a LED light indicator. The LED illuminates when you are in the Video-In-Mode. The box also comes with a decent VGA Video cable and adapter.

Performance:

Most people have Personal Computers at home so why not utilize the monitor (screen) for your videogames..? Not only is the picture sharper than most peoples TV's, but they could save you the expense of buying another one, just for gaming.

The principal is simple… Just attach the Cheese box device to the monitor and with a flick of the wrist, kiss goodbye to all of those members of your family who are forever turning off your console to watch something on TV.

Best of all, it's extremely easy to install. Just plug the PlayStation or PS2 Video out cable into the Cheese box input via S-Video or Composite jack and insert the monitor cable into the female DB9 connector. Switch on the AC power supply adapter and you're done..!; it took me just minutes to install and the resultant picture quality is both colorful and sharp.

Alternative connectors have been provided on the unit to satisfy gamers who want the flexibility of connecting their console into a PC video card.

Surprisingly, the box is somewhat intelligent. When it does not detect a video signal, it will display a blue screen. It can also automatically detect different video standards like NTSC M, or PAL.

There is a toggle switch that allows you to change to different video inputs, avoiding constant cable swapping. It is possible to have an S-Video source and a Composite source plugged in at the same time, although the S-Video is given priority.

Reliability:

The Cheese Video Box is a nice solid well-made device. It is extremely light- weight and durable.

Opinion:

I was pretty amused that such a simple looking box can do so much. The installation is incredibly simple. The graphics look great and everything is logically laid out. The box itself is rather compact and easy to place too.

I think this device gives a lot of flexibility, some bang for the buck and provides a great backup plan when the TV is tied up and you just cant fight that urge to play a favorite videogame.
