Ok, When I Bought This Game, It Was 2 Years Old, But I Am Still Yet To See Such A Good Fighter On Ps2! With Many Game Modes And Costumes To Unlock, It's Just Plain Amazing!" | Graphics 20/20 Playability 48/50 | Sound 9/10 Lastability 20/20 | 97% | Last updated on 2003-08-08 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 52 days.
| | | | | Matt Baker "I Would Not Be Exaggerating If I Said That Dead Or Alive 2 Has Become A Religion In My Household! It Is Literally The Most Addictive Game I Have Ever Played. To Give You An Idea, On The Game Timer Which Measures How Many Hours Youve Been Playing The Game For My Flatmate And I Have Currently Clocked Up 512 Hours Of Play. Yes This Is Somewhat Sad But Can You Really Blame Me? I Mean The Graphics Are Astounding, The Gameplay Is Highly Addictive. Its Easy Enough To Pick Up And Play Straight Away, But To Master The Counter-attacks And Each Characters Style Is Something That Will Take Time. The Multiplayer Aspect Is Also Fantastic. Theres Nothing Better Than Having 3 Friends Over With A Multi-tap And Playing 2 Vs 2 In A Tag Match! In Short, If Youre Reading This And You Dont Own Dead Or Alive 2, Then Slap Yourself Hard And Go And Buy It Now." | Graphics 20/20 Playability 50/50 | Sound 9/10 Lastability 20/20 | 99% | Last updated on 2003-01-09 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 52 days. | | | | |
| | | | | Chris B "Despite All These Generous Reviews, I Find The Game To Be A Bit On The Easy Side. I Thought The "one Button For Punching" And "one Button For Kicking" Set Up A Bit Limiting. I'd Have Preferred A Bit More Versatility.
Maybe I'm Just A Tekken Freak, But I Also Found The Characters A Bit On The Boring Side. Still, Can't Argue With The Visuals , Absolutely Superb And Kicking People Through Windows Is Scarily Satisfying." | Graphics 15/20 Playability 20/50 | Sound 8/10 Lastability 11/20 | 54% | Last updated on 2001-10-29 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 52 days.
| | | | | Loretta Mattie "To Give You Quick Idea Of How Visually Good This Game Is I Don't Mind Admitting That When First Playtesting It, I Got Goose-bumps All Over... This Is The Very First Ps2 Game That This Has Happened To Me.
With Anticipated Excitement, I Immediately Jumped Into The Game And Began With The Single Player Time Attack Mode. You Need To First Choose A Character. Since I Am Of The Female Gender, I Started With One Of The Girly-fighters To See What They Were Made Of. Her Name Is Tina; She Is A Wrestling Star With A Mean Case Of Pms. Together We Battled, Dropping These Men Like Flies, Match By Match, Exhausting Their Health With Each Killer Blow. The Key Is To Take Your Opponent Down Quickly With A Couple Of Slick Moves, And Beat The Clock. Tina Rocks!
This Game Is Full Of Extras, If The Battle Is Too Easy Or Too Hard, You Can Go Into The Option Mode And Modify The Difficulty Levels, You Can Also Set The Number Of Wins To Take A Match. There Is A Sparring Mode Where You Can Practice And Check Out The Numerous Moves Available For Each Character. You Can Also Check Out The Different Scenes Where The Fights Can Take Place.
Some Of The Modes Can Be Played As Either Single Or Multi-player Games. Tag Mode Is A Good Example... Set Up Teams Based On The Number Of Players - If You Have Four Players You Can Setup A Two On Two Match. Unlike Tekken The Tag Feature Allows For Some Great Combination Moves Involving Both Players From Each Team. Prepare For Some Real Wwf-style Action Where 2-on-1 Situations Are Readily Encouraged.
My Personal Favorite Though Was The Story Mode. Each Character Has A Story To Tell. Between Battles, Short Movies Reveal A Little More About Each Character - Some Of Which Is Down-right Weird. Don't Be Surprised If A Mysterious New Character Pops Up. I Don't Want To Let The Cat Out Of The Bag, The Fun Is Finding This Stuff Yourself.
The Characters Of Doa2 Are Of Varying Nationalities And Personalities. Their Only Purpose Is To Win The "hardcore Championship". No Referees, No Rules - This Is A Fight To The Death. You Will Notice Each Character Has Their Own Style, Strengths And Weaknesses. Moves Are Plentiful, One Of My Favorites Is The 'face Slam'... You Will Surely Need A Nose Job After That Encounter. The Counter Attack Capability Comes Handy While Defending Yourself And Also Makes For A Very Amusing Fight!
I Like The Fact That Each Character Has A Wardrobe. Its No Secret That Girls Like To Try On A Few Outfits Before They Are Satisfied Or Put On Something Sexy When In The Mood (you Know What I Am Talking About). Anyway, If You Want To Get Real Personal, Measurements Are Available For Your Viewing Pleasure.
The Graphics Are "freaking Awesome". The Characters Are Highly Detailed And Realistic. I Was Checking Out The Rock Hard Six-packs On Some Of These Dudes, Yum!
Boys.. Boys.. Boys, Don't Get Your Panties In A Bunch!! The Chicks Are Knockouts Too, With Curvy Hot Bods, Wearing Almost Nothing (note From Editor: From A Male Point Of View The Babe's Are A More Than Just 'knockout' - In Fact I Would Go As Far As To Say That They The Reason That The Word Hardcore Was Added To The Game Title… He, He, He).
The Scenes Were Breathtaking, Everything You Would Expect From A Ps2 Perspective (you Actually Got The Impression That The Console Might Be Trying A Little - Unlike Most Of The Other Launch Titles) . I Liked The Effects Of Kicking Up Dust When Brawling In The Desert Or Snow Swooshing In Your Face, Sun Reflections Bouncing Off Objects, Mountains In The Distance And Yea.. Broken Glass Fragments Flying Around When You Get Thrown Into It.
The Sound Effects Are As Realistic As The Graphics. Hear The Impact Of Punches And Kicks, Body Slamming, Smashing Into Walls, Feel The Pain, Ouch! Each Fighter Has Their Own Accent And Dialogue, Perfectly Matching Their Characteristics. The Taunting Is Hilarious..!" | Graphics 16/20 Playability 44/50 | Sound 8/10 Lastability 17/20 | 85% | Last updated on 2001-10-16 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 52 days.

Excellent Graphics, right Down To The Bounce Trick For The Girls! Smooth, fluid Movement And Interactive Backgrounds have Your Opponent Slipping On Oil or Throwing Them Through A Window, 5 Stories High!
A Total Of 14 Characters To Master, each With Their Own Massive Collection Of Attacks, counters, Evades, and Throws To Annialate Your Enemy With.
An Excellent Tag Team Mode. Tag-Up Your Favorite Characters To See Them Execute Team Moves For Double Damage.
Many Clothes For You To Unlock For All Characters.
Special Age Setting(bouncybouncy!)
Get This Game If You Dont Have It!
You Will Be Hooked For Months!

| | | | | Doug Abbott (dwa) "I've Been A Fan Of The Fighting Genre Since Street Fighter One, And I Must Say, I'm Very Pleased With Doa2 Hardcore.
Graphics: When The First Stage Loaded Up, Everything Was Smooth And Very Clean Looking. The Characters Were Very Fluid And The Backgrounds Were Amazing. Overall Some Of The Best Graphics I've Seen So Far!
Sounds: There's The Usually, Boom, Baf Sounds That Come With Most Fighting Games, Along With Some Rather Cheesy Voice Acting.
Gameplay: I Loved The Gameplay, Very Easy To Learn And Many Different Modes To Choose From. Wanna See How Tough You Really Are? Enter Survivor Mode And Test Your Skills. Bring Over A Friend And Duke It Out In Tag Mode!
Secrets: There Are Plenty Of Constumes To Unlock, A Few Hidden Characters To Discover, And A Bonus Cg Gallery To View. Motivation For You!
Overall: If You Are A Raging Fighting Fan, I Suggest You Pick This Game Up! It Will Provide You With Hours Of Fun For You And Your Friends. And As A Final Note, The "bounciness" Factor Is An Added Bonus For You Guys Out There!" | Graphics 18/20 Playability 48/50 | Sound 9/10 Lastability 18/20 | 93% | Last updated on 2001-09-09 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 52 days.
| | | | | Badboy 3223 "This Game Was One Of The First Games I Bought For Ps2. Me And My Friends Love This Game And When You Have 4 Player Action Your Hands Are Glued To The Controller! The Graphics In His Game Are To Good To Be True, The Very Fast Paced Movement Is Great, And I Love all The Reversals And Grabs You Can Do. Also The Levels Are Great As Well Like Dragon Hills (my Personal Fav.) Where You Can Give Them A Hard Hit In The Chest Sending Them Flying Off A Roof Like About 5 Stories High.
If You Have A Ps2 And Dont Have This Game Yet You Must Be Crazy. Go Out And Get It Now!" | Graphics 20/20 Playability 50/50 | Sound 10/10 Lastability 20/20 | 100% | Last updated on 2001-08-08 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 52 days.
| | | | | Brandon Harris "I Have Been A Tekken Fanatic For Years But Doa2 Is The Best!
Trying To Get All Of The Costumes For The Different Characters Alone Will Keep You Playing For Months!
Already I Can't Wait For The Sequel To Come Out!" | Graphics 18/20 Playability 48/50 | Sound 9/10 Lastability 18/20 | 93% | Last updated on 2001-07-14 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 52 days.
| | | | | Barrie Clark "A Feast For The Eyes And A Good Game To Boot. All The Characters Are Likeable And You Quickly Find One Whom You Spend The Most Time With. I Liked The Challenge Of Unlocking The Costumes. The Sparring Mode Is A Good Idea For Beginners To The Genre Who Can Use It To Work On Their Moves. Story Mode Is Interesting, I Only Wish The Stories Were Developed A Little Further. Perhaps Tecmo Could Develop Other Games With Some Of The Characters Here (kasumi Would Be My Choice).
Forget Tekken, This Is The Fighting Game You Want To Buy For Your Ps2." | Graphics 15/20 Playability 48/50 | Sound 9/10 Lastability 18/20 | 90% | Last updated on 2001-07-14 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 28 days.
