The Graphics And Attention To Details Are The Most Noticeable Things In The Game. Everything Is Smooth And Beautifully Designed. Even In The Backgrounds Of The Game You Can See Animals Moving, And The Crowd Looks And Sounds Much More Realistic Than In Gt2 Or Gt. The 4 000 Polygons Per Car Really Shows This Time Around. You Can See The Heat Of The Brake Discs And Even The Make And Model Of The Car Written On The Front And Back Of It.
The Sound Of The Game Is Nicely Done, With Each Engine Sounding Like The Real Thing. When You Rev The Engine Of A Modified Supra, It's Far From Sounding Like The Engine Of A Civic, As An Example. What Was Disapointing Was The Skid Sounds. Of Course When You Hear Them They Sound Nice For The First Times. But Then You Get To Feel They're Not Real, And Artificially Made. There Is That Limit Of The Tires That's Too Sharp. For Example, When You Get Into A Curve In A Real Car, Depending On The Speed You Travel, You Hear The Wheels Skidding Around Louder And Louder, As Your Speed Increases. Well In Gt3, It Goes From None, To Full Sound, So There's No Difference Between A Car In Oversteer, Or A Car On A Good Racing Line. As I Said Before, The Crowd When You Pass The Start/finish Line Sounds Much More Realistic Than Its Prequels.
The Gameplay Is Amazing. A Lot Of Cars, And A Lot Of Modifications. But You Can't Have This Number Of Cars Without Having The Tracks To Fit. That's Why Polyphony Gave Us More Than 50 Tracks, Including The Reverse Ones. The Replays Look Beautiful Too, The Best Ones In A Car Racing Game. All The Cameras Are So Well Placed On The Track Or The Car, That You Feel Like You're Watching A Real Race. That's Where Even Your Worst Race Becomes Beautiful To Watch. With All That, Where's The Real Ps2 Gameplay Power? Where Are The Exterior Modifications? Where Are The 400+ Cars Everybody Was Expecting? What's The Difference Between The Amateur League And The Professional League When You Beat Both Of Them With One Hand?
While So Many People Think This Game Is The Absolute Last-ability Title, I Got To Say, Ever Since I Played The Gt Series, I Always Got Surprised With How Fast I Got Bored Of The Game. I Am A Big Car Racing Fans, But When It Comes To Beating The Ai So Easily, I Personally Think I Can Put This Game Away. I Played The Game For About 6 Hours Every Day On The 1st Month I Had It, But Then I Could Beat Every Race While Having A Hot-dog And A Glass Of Liquor. You Got My Point? I Never Thought Ai Would Have An Effect On A Game's Lasting Appeal, But Polyphony Prooved Me Wrong. Of Course, I Still Find Myself From Times To Times Playing With The Tuning Options And Settings To Improve My Cars And Squeeze The Best Times Around The Tracks.

Then Quit The Replay And Go To Data Logger, There Is A Níce Feature Which Lets You Watch Your Lap In A Slow Motion! Section Per Section, Over And Over Again, Even Compare Two Performances At That Track Simultaneously!

Small Problems Such As Unmatched Music With The Game Which Does Get Annoying At Times And Bewildering Why They Didn't Add The Tracks From Gt2 Like "the Cardigans - My Favourite Game"?
As For Graphics, It's Brilliant Till U Read About The Programmers Wanting To Make This Game Perfect, Well It Aint.
Casting Shadows Of The Cars Look Realistic But They Don't Cast Shadows And The Oponents Cars. Also The Shadows Disappear When U Ride Over Curbs Or Ripple Strips. U Can Notice This In The Intro.
As For Rallying, The Dirt Does Not Cast A Shadow Under The Car Before It Disapates .... Pity, Would Of Made It A Touch Better.
Finally, The Biggest Glitch, Replay Mode On The Cote D Azure Track, My Replay Mode Didnt Replay The Race As It Suppose To Happen, My Car Ended Up Becoming A Spinning Egg Along A Barrier. I Was Shocked And Amazed And Felt A Bit Let Down After Coughing Up So Much Cash.
It Could Be A One Off But I Will Test It Again To See If He Repeats Itself.
Apart From That, The Detail Is Superb With Glowing Disc Brakes, Arcing Of The Dtm Touring Cars Over Ripplestrips And The Wet Track Of The Ss Special Stage. Even Look Out On The Seattle Track For The Reflections Of The City On The Rear Boot! No Bogus Reflections Unlike Gt2.
The Heat Wave Effect On The Replay Is A Nice Touch With A Media Release Saying It Was Over Done But I Find It Just Something Different.

Faults I Found With The Game Are Minimal. Yes There Is A Bit Of Popup, But Who Cares. Sure Some Of The Car Models Arent Perfect, And The Road And Background Bleed Through A Bit During Replay, Especially The Corvette Z06 When Painted Black. Maybe The Cars Are Still Tankish And Still Wont Allow Me To Spin Out The Opponents The Way The Police Do In Cops. And Im Quite Sure There Are Tires That Last Much Longer Than The Annoying Quick-wear Medium Tires The Game Forces You To Use On All Formula One Cars, Yes, I Said Formula One! But On The Bright Side There Are Those Track Cones You Can Push Around Now!
This Game Is Clearly A Must Have If You Own The Ps2, And Love To Drive Cars. I Know I Vent My Road Rage On This Game. If Anything You Can Describe Your Obsessive Playing Of The Game As Therapeutic. And Lacking The Kind Of Style That You See On The Streets On Rice Rockets And In Other Games Like That Tokyo Racing Game, Which I Rate Better, Just Because U Can Customize The Bodykits.
I Don't Think The Game Will Get Boring For A While, But After I Beat It, It'll Take Me A Few Minutes To Buy All The Cars I Want In My Dream Garage. Which Is A Downside. In Gran Turismo 2, After I Beat The Game, I Went Out And Bought Every Car That Looked Good. But Right Now, In Gt3, I Already Have All The Cars That Look Good. The Sound Is Much Crisper Than In The Previous Two, It Doesn't Have That "droning" Sound. The Tire Screech Is More Realistic, Also. The Sountrack Is Top-notch, With Snoop Dogg, Motley Crue, Jimi Hendrix, And Lenny Kravitz. Excellent.
Thee Car Selection Is Fantastic, Although Lacking The Quantity Of Gt2 And Used Cars. But, Of The Apprx. 575 Cars In Gt2, Nobody Probably Used More Than 200 Of Them Anyway.so Gt3 Has A More Carefully Selected Range.
The Tracks Are Beautifuly Rendered, With Fantastic Layout And Design. I Like How The Classics Once More Return To The Cups. The Reverse Option Is Good, And Weather (rain, Fog) Is Track-sensitive But Still Excellent.

The Graphical Engine Has Come On Leaps And Bounds Over The Past Year And Many Other Software Companies Will Now Be Sitting With A Copy Of The Game Wondering How The Hell Did They Get The Wet Track Along With The Misting Refections Of The Surrounding Environment Glimmering Of The Car And Wet Track At A Bliztering 60fps!!. On A Sad Note There Is Pop-up On Some Tracks Namely Special Stage Route 5, When You Are Coming Off The Final Turn To The Winning Straight, The Start/finish Banners And Buildings Aren't There And Then It's Up!. You Only Notice It When You Are Going In A Slow Car (yaris) But At Speed The World Just Swooshes Past As A Blur.
The Controls Are What A Dualshock 2 Controller Was Designed For. With The Analogue Buttons Spot On For Power And Control I Wonder If They Made The Manual Gear Shift Sensitive? When Blasting In A Viper And Changing Upgear I Was Banging The Gears In With Bad Response To The Change, But Tap It In Lightly The Engine Powered Right Up.
The Licences Are A Breeze To Pass, Making You Think That The Rest Of The Game Is Going To Be Easy, Not! The Leagues, Cups & Races Have There Surprises Awaiting For You. I'm Not Quite Sure If The Ai Bots Try To Get Revenge From You If You Previously Knocked Them Off The Road. Also Each Racer Does Not Take His Own Racing Line, Instead They Usually Drive Behind Eachother In The Same Line.
I Was Especially Happy To See My Most Favorite Cars Added To The Lineup! The 2000 Camaro Ss, New Impreza, Lancer Evo. Vii, And The Viper Gtsr Concept Car.
The Game Is A Lot Longer Too. I Have Completed About 6 Cups And Recieved 2 Liscenses, And I'm Only 7% Done With The Game. Used Cars And New Cars Are In The Same Lot, And Priced As If They Were All Brand New. Instead Of 10,000credits, You Start With A Cool 18,000 Credits. Though Cars Are More Expensive In Gt3. I Would Recommend Start Off With A Mazda Miata Since It Is Light, Pretty Fast And 17,000credits.
Overall I Would Give This Game An A. I Feel There Is Little To Improve Uppon And Was Made Very Well. In Future Series, I Would Like To See Features Such As Damage, But The Car Manufacturers Would Not Want Gt3's Cars To Have Damage Appear In The Game.
Weather Is Very Realistic And If You Buy Upgrades On Your Car, They Are Very Noticable (expecially New Brakes And Tires). If Rain Or Snow Conditions Occur, Be Prepared To Slip And Slide A Lot!
