|Tanner "If You Are Looking For A Good First Person Shooter On Your Ps2, Then You Wont Go Wrong With This One. Based On The Pc Version About Some Lab Experiments Going Badly Wrong Which Opens A Gateway To Alien Creatures From A Different Dimension.
This Is An Improved And Better Version Than The Original And Even Caters For Those Keyboard And Mouse Freaks Out There. One Of The Most Important Things To Me Is The Control Method, And I Can I Honestly Say Half-life Have Done A Good Job On This. I Was Also Impressed With The Enemy Characters Ai In The Game And The Fact You Can Get Guards To Help You Kill Alien Creatures. This Is Not A Brainless Shooter, You Got To Use Your Nut And Plan You Next Move If You Have Any Chance Of Completing This Game Or Moving Onto Next Level. There Is Not Much In The Way Of Music In The Game But This (including : Sound Effects, Dark Corridors And Ventilation Shafts) Helps To Bring Up The Tension. The Sound Effects (very John Carpenter In Places) Are Great, Especially The Weapons And The Creatures Effects. The Graphics Are Good But Nothing Special. You Can Also Save Your Progress Anytime In The Game Which Is Privilege Pc Gamers Have Had For Years.
This Shooter Really Comes Into Its Own When Playing The Co-op Mode. Its Like Having Two Games In One, Thats How Good The Co-op Mode Is And Handled Very Well With Acceptable Scrolling. My Only Criticism Is That It Could Of Done With Some Decent Fmv, More In-game Music, And A Clearer Targeting Crosshair (when In Some Modes).
Half Life Has Plenty Of Weapons And Areas To Get Through And Will Keep You Busy For Weeks. So If Like First Person Shooters This One Is Definitely Worth Checking Out."
