"There has been a considerable amount of Internet buzz regarding this title yet Sony has chosen, for whatever reason, to minimally market this game. Incorporating elements from puzzle, adventure, strategy, fighting and RPG genres this may just be the BEST PS2 GAME released so far !"

PS2 Review SUMMARY and SCORE
Julio A Valdez  "Excellent Game, I Previously Played Shadow Of The Colossus And Ico Reminded Me Of The Settings And Beautiful Scenery. I Had A Blast Playing Ico With My 5 Year Old Son, As A Matter Of Fact, It Was Easier For Him To Figure Out What To Do Than It Was For Me. Great Story And Game, This Is What A Video Game Should Be All About."

PS2 Review SUMMARY and SCORE
Skyhigh  "When I Started To Play Ico, I Was Amazed By The Angelic Music That Introduces The Game And Main Title Screen, Then When I Started To Explore The Castle, I Couldn't Believe The Sound Effects. There Is No Background Music During The Game, Only A Flawless And Ultra Realistic Effect Of The Birds Singing, The Ocean Downthere, The Wind Blowing At Your Hear And You Walk The High Passages Of The Castle, It's Absolutelly Perfect. And If You Have On Of Those Surround 5.1 For Ps2, You Will Be In The Castle, While You Have Surround Effects All Around You.
There Are Some Music Too, At The End Of The Game ("you Were There") And It's So Beautiful It Makes Me Cry (along With The Ending Of The Game)...
The Graphics Are Very Detailed, There Is No Frame Lag Whatsoever, You Can Look At Everything Corner Of The Rooms Or Halls, Zoom In, Zoom Out, You Name It! Trust Me You Will Stop Just To Look At The Views When You Are At The Castle Gardens And Terraces. It's So Well Done That You Will Fell You Stomach Tremble And That Vertigo Sense When You Walk By Small Bridges And You See The Ocean You The Garden Bottom Way, Way, Way, Down!...
If You Like Puzzle Games This One Is For You!!! It's Not Just A Game, It's A Guided Tour Into A Amazing Castle And Pure Eye-candy Cruising Every Second Of The Game..."

PS2 Review SUMMARY and SCORE
[bigsilk]  "What A Beautiful Game. As Others Have Said, It Is Forgiving, But It Can Be Joyously Frustrating As Well. When I Stop Playing (which Is Tough) I Go Outside And Catch Myself Looking At Things Around Me In Terms Of The World If Ico. It Really Is That Enthralling And Engaging. No Meters, No Power Ups, No Steep Learning Curve. One Of The Only Drawbacks Is That Some Of The Puzzle Elements Occur Commonly, So You're Able To Figure Out What Needs To Be Done Rather Quickly. Unlike Games Like Myst Or Riven, Where Each Puzzle Is Very Unique, In Ico When You See A Box, You Move It, When You See A Chain Or Rope You Climb It, Cut It Or Pull It, Etc. I Rented It, But I Will Buy It."

Sunny Lee  "This Game Is A Masterpiece. If You Play It Long Enough And Try To Solve Its Puzzles, You Will Be Justly Rewarded...and Soon You'll Realize You Would Want To Solve All The Puzzles Right Till The End. And When It Ends, You Wish You Could Go On And The Game Never Ends.

A Must Buy For All Ps2 Owners."

PS2 Review SUMMARY and SCORE
Rae  "This Is One Of The Best Games I Have Ever Played. The Characters Are Likeable And Easy To Move Around The Environments. The Graphics Are Mind-blowing And Unbelievably Realistic. The Only Real Problem I Had With The Game Is The Camera Angles. They Tend To Obscure The Enemies Making It Infinitely More Difficult To Fight Them. I Lost Track Of Yorda Several Times Due To This. Otherwise This Is The Most Fun I Have Ever Had With A Strategy Game. It Had Me Hooked All The Way Up To The End! The Replay Value Is Good, Too. It Remains A Fascinating And Challenging Game Even After You’ve Completed It Once!"

PS2 Review SUMMARY and SCORE
Qwerty E Prince  "You And Hello, I Am Japanese Ico Player.
I Hardly Knew The Existence Until Ico Was Put On The Market.
And It Purchased, Without Seldom Also Checking The Contents.
Why Was Ico Taken In Its Hand? It Is The Design Which Cannot Tell That It Is Showy To A Compliment, Either... It Pulled My Mind On The Contrary.
And It Actually Plays And The Difference From Other Games Is Noticed.
There Is "yojou" In This Game.
In Other Words, It Is "wabi" Of The Tea Ceremony Of Japan.
The Pure Heart As A Child Can Be Regained.
A Number, Not Language But Atmosphere, And Feeling Are Transmitted.
It Is Only Himself Whom Tomb-raider And Metal-gear-solid Manage.
But Ico Is Different. The Girl Who Does Not Understand Even A Name, Not To Mention True Character.
Such A Girl Is Protected And The Outside Of A Castle Is Aimed At Together With Guidance.
It Is Merely The Thing Of Only That... Only It Therefore Is Merely Blown In New Feeling.
Those Who Cannot Enjoy This Game Are Not Unhappy.
However, Those Who Can Enjoy Themselves Should Get The Happy Feeling More Than Other Games.
And You As Whom The Ending Different From The 1st Time Was Able To Be Regarded At The Last Of The 2nd Rescue Strategy Have Gained The Highest Impression."

PS2 Review SUMMARY and SCORE
Tony Greco  "I've Read So Many Reviews On Ico...and I Get Two Conclusions: This Game Is A Form Of Art By Itself, And The Game Is Too Short. I Agree With The Opinion That This Game Is Artistic. It Looks And Feels Like No Other Game I've Ever Played. The Effects Are Not Meant To Be Effects, But More Of A Style. However, This Game Is Too Long. Of The 5 Hours I Spent Figuring Out These "puzzles Of Originality" I Spent About 5 Hours Walking, Jumping And....well That's About It. This Game Has No Gaming Concept. You Find The Switch...you Push It And You Move On. I'm Sorry, But I Can't Do That For 5 Hours While Maintaining A Smile On My Face. This Game Visually Is Stunning, But Should Be A Short Film Or A Vr World But Not A Game. There Is No Game Element- No Good Fighting, No Good Puzzles, No Reason To Explore (the Castle Is Bare As Hell) And Little To No Story... You're Just Sent On A Linear Mission To Find That Special Switch That Will Take You To The Next Scene."

PS2 Review SUMMARY and SCORE
Jun Guanio  "The Game Instantlly Had My Attention Because Of The Stuning Graphics And Smoothness Of The Game! Its Story Line Is Also One Of A Kind, Thats Why I Kept Playing The Game. I Could Say That Ico Is A Breath Of Fresh Air For Rpg Games, Because Other Rpg Games Have One After The Other Been Very Disappointing. The Only Downside Of The Game Would Be Its Gamespan, Which Is Very Short, Personaly I Finished The Game In 8 1/2 Hours Straight But Still, I Really Apreciated The Game Very Well. All In All I Could Say That Ico Is A Very Awesome Game! =)"

PS2 Review SUMMARY and SCORE
Andrew Heffron  "Ico Is The Best Game I Have Ever Played, On Any Platform. I Mostly Play Computer Games, And It Is Most Similar To Riven And Tomb Raider In Terms Of Gameplay Mechanics And Atmosphere, But It Is Far Better Than Either Of Those Games/franchises.

Gameplay Is Very Simple. No Inventory, No Health Meters Or Other Onscreen Clutter, Just Beautiful Graphics. Never In A Game Have I Stopped Just To Look Around At The Scenery In The Way I Have While Playing Ico. The Game Is Very Fair, As Well. It's Impossible To Get Yourself Stuck By Doing Things In The Wrong Order, Nor Are There Any Situations Where You Can't Avoid Dying At Least Once In Order To Figure Out A Trick. Also, The Game Is Very Forgiving In Situations Where Many Other Games Are Not, Like When Trying To Make A Vital Jump. In Tomb Raider, For Instance, You Can Spend Long Minutes Trying To Complete A Series Of Hairy Moves, Reloading Time After Time As You Fall To Your Death. In Ico, If You Are Reasonably Close, You'll Make It. This Is Nice Because It Eliminates The Extreme Frustration Of Trying To Complete A Difficult Move With No Nearby Save Point.

Ico Is The Most Emotionally Affecting Game I've Ever Played. I'm Thirty Five Years Old, I Have A Wife And Son, I Do All Sorts Of Guy Stuff: I Play Hockey, Tear My Computer Apart, Go Backpacking. But At The End Of This Game I Had A Bit Of A Tear In My Eye.

I Can't Say Enough Good Things About Ico. Buy This Game. If You Are Thinking About Getting A Ps2, Do It Now, And Get This Game. If You Aren't Planning On Getting A Playstation, Find Out Everything You Can About This Game And Start Agitating For A Pc Version."

S T Roberts  "One Of The Most Refreshing Video Games Ever. Ico Has Set The Bar For The 3d Puzzle Platform Game. The Graphical Washy Or Graining Style Reminds Me Of Metal Gear Solid And Ico Shows Off The Ps2 Capabilities. The Level Design Is Some Of The Best I've Ever Seen And While The Story Is Never Truly Explained The Game Compels You To Finish It."

PS2 Review SUMMARY and SCORE
Robert Stark  "My Only Complaint About Ico Is The Duration Of The Game. I Am Not A Game Head That Plays Video Games Alot. So, I Thought This Game Would Last Me Quite A While, Expecting It To Be Like Myst, Riven, Etc. On The Pc/mac Platforms. The Game Is Very Fun While It Lasts But In My Opinion The Puzzles Are Not Hard At All So I Literally Flew Through The Game. I Took Me About 8.5 - 9 Hours. It Would Be Great If For Ico2 They Would Make It A Multiple Dvd Set So The Game Could Me Much Longer. Also A Little Harder Wouldn't Hurt Either."
