Sure It Can Be Frustrating, But That's Because You Have To Go Through The Missions Multiple Times In Order To Find Out What You Have To Do To Succeed. That Requires Patience, Careful Squad Deployment, The Right Choice Of Weapons, And The Ability To Laugh When You Get Splattered Unexpectedly. As For The Aiming Issue...you Need To Go Into The Controller Options And Pick Custom. Then, Decrease Your Look Speed, Acceleration, And Dead Zone To Almost Nothing, But It Will Help Prevent You From Swinging Your Gun Wildly Back And Forth Over The Target, Which Is, I'm Sure, The Problem You're Encountering. The Overall Effect Will Make It Seem As Though The Character's Gun Is Very Heavy. However, It Will Keep You From Losing All That Time You Spend Waving The Weapon All Over The Place. This Is A Fantastic Game, By The Way, Whether You're By Yourself Or Especially When You're Online!" | Graphics 18/20 Playability 48/50 | Sound 9/10 Lastability 20/20 | 95% | Last updated on 2003-06-20 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 52 days.
| | | | | Rick Sengal "First Off, I Bought This Game Thiking It Would Great To Use The Headset And Order Around My Team Mates. Well Truth Is, I Didn't Even Need The Headset Because U Can Use The Buttons To Give Out "commands". It's Just A Cheap Money Scheme To Sell A Crappy Headset. Plus My Mom Thought I Was Weird When I Was Giving Commands Such As "regroup" And "charlie Go To This Preson". I Prefered Using The Buttons To Give Commands. Ohh And Plus The Commands Are Alredy Pre Determined. It Would Be Pretty Cool If I Could Have Asked One Of My Team Makes How His Day Was.
Nonetheless The Game Play Was Fair, Although The Game Is Too Serious. The Way Each Missions Starts Off Is Very "bland" Nothing Special, No Character Interaction, Just Missions After Missions!plain Old Boring Navy Stuff.
Plus The #1 Hated Flaw Of Games Is The Whole "objective Scheme" I Hate Those. They Ruin The Game Because You're Too Busy Looking To See What Ojective You Need And What U Already Done. Make Games Fun, Not 100% Serious, Add Some Humour. It's Only A Game. | | | | | Bob "Socom Is The Reason You Bought A Ps2 And Network Adaptor. The Gameplay Is Great And The Graphics And Sound Are Top Notch. Single Player Is Great Despite Your Teammates Making Occasional Mistakes And The Enemy Seems A Bit Dumb At Times. Online Socom Is Like A Drug I Couldn't Put It Down. I Played Online For 10 Hours Straight, Not Even Realizing Time Had Passed. The Thrill Of One Hit Kills And Talking Through A Headset To Teammates Is Probably What Makes Online So Great. Go Buy Socom Now, It Is By Far The Best Ps2 Game Available." | Graphics 18/20 Playability 50/50 | Sound 10/10 Lastability 20/20 | 98% | Last updated on 2003-01-19 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 52 days.
| | | | | Alex Torres "The Game Is Great And The First Time I Played It I Was Definitely Excited But I Don't Have Broadband In My Area, I Hope They Make A Sequel With Two Player Cooperative Mode So People Who Don't Have Broadband Can Play Two Player." | Graphics 11/20 Playability 33/50 | Sound 9/10 Lastability 15/20 | 68% | Last updated on 2002-12-03 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 52 days. | | | | |
| | | | | Sean M Whitfield "This Game Is The Best Third Person Game In The Market. The Realism Is Outstanding. I Love Playing These Types Of Games. This One Takes The Cake Though. I Actully Feel Like I'm Not Wasting Money On This One." | Graphics 18/20 Playability 33/50 | Sound 9/10 Lastability 15/20 | 75% | Last updated on 2002-10-28 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 52 days. | | | | |
| | | | | Jamie Holland "I Really Enjoy The Realness Of The Game. It Puts You In Situations Where You Actually Get Worried About If You've Been Seen Or Heard. I Like The Fact That You Do Have Teammates There With You And You Can Control Most Of The Things They Do. I Will Say Sometimes Those Same Teammates Are A Little Dumb And Get You Killed By Being Seen. Online Except For Getting Kicked Off All The Time Its The Best Online Gaming Ive Ever Played. With The Right Group Of Guys You Could Easily See Hours Go By Without Notice. I Will Say Aiming Is A Little Bit Of A Problem, It Takes A Little While To Get Used To. All In All Id Say Besides Metal Of Honor This Is The Best Army Game Ever." | Graphics 15/20 Playability 43/50 | Sound 9/10 Lastability 20/20 | 87% | Last updated on 2002-09-25 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 28 days. | | | | |
| | | | | Ima Nottellen "This Game Is Great. I Would Recommend This
To Anyone Who Is Sick Of The "run Around
Blowing The Crap Out Of Everything" Kind If
Game But That Dosen't Mean You Cant Do That
In S.o.c.o.m. The Rifle Mounted Grenade
Launchers Add A Nice Amount Of Carnage If You
Want It. There's Nothing More Pleasing Than
Shoothing A Frage Nade Right Under Your
Enemies Butt And Watching Them Fet Ingulfed
In A Ball Of Fire. Some People Say That Your
Squad A.i. Is Ban I Disagree. They Complain
That Your Squad Mates Don't Shoot Until The
Enemy Is Right On Top Of You. I Think That's
Because They Know Not To Blow Your Cover.
Also Could You Hit A Guy And Kill Him From Half
Way Across The Map. I Think Not." | Graphics 20/20 Playability 50/50 | Sound 8/10 Lastability 20/20 | 98% | Last updated on 2002-09-24 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 21 days.
| | | | | Karl Orbeta "After Having Spent Four Years In The Army As A Armored Recon Scout, Socom Simply Frags My Mind Away. Socom's Intense Close Quarters Fighting, Confusion, The Disorientation Of Darkness, A Misplaced Flash Grenade Along With It's Stunning Supporting Graphics Would Send Any Recon Grunt Back To The Va Hospital For Treatment. However, The Game Ai Lacks In Variety And Ruthlessness, And Can Make Enemy Reaction A Little Predictable At Times. Also, I Really Enjoyed The Headset Action. But, I Found The Commands And Team Execution A Little Frustrating. At Times When I Wanted To Command The Bravo Element To Clear/bang A Room I Had To Move Around, Keep Issuing The "regroup" Command To Get Them In Position To Finally Execute. What I Did Like About The Voice Commands Was The Microphone's Sensitivity, I Would Actually Creep My Wife Out And Send Her Running Out Of The Livingroom When I Would Issue Commands In A Steely Near Whisper. I Hope, If There Is A Sequel, The Commands Will Improve Along With Execution, And The Ai Will Be A More Formidable Adversary. In Comparison To Other Similiar Games Like Metal Gear 2, Socom Lacks An Entertaining Story, Character Interaction And Cheeeeesseeeee Lines. However, For The Serious Gamers, Who Hate Drama...socom Is The Unit To Enlist In. All In All, I Will Replay This Game And Reenlist For My Favorite Missions In The Year To Come. This Former Army Recon Grunt, Grunts For Socom! | | | | | Ryan Dall Acqua "The Game Is Great The Best Since Grand Theft Auto 3 It Has Great Graphics Relistic Settings With Good Weapons.the Only Problem Is The Aiming And Takes Time To Get Used To." | Graphics 15/20 Playability 50/50 | Sound 9/10 Lastability 18/20 | 92% | Last updated on 2002-09-13 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 14 days. | | | | |
| | | | | Paul "Anyone Can Get Into Socom. The Graphics Are The Absolute Best, Especially The Enviroments, However The Game Is Solid. Objectives And Selection Of What U Need Gives A Realistic Feeling To The Game And Is A Real Blast. With The Network Adapter Mia This Game Is Still Awesome W/o Online Capabilities. This Game Is An Awesome Buy If Not A Must When Online Is Here. Headset Comes W/ The Game As well, Which Makes Playing A More Involved Experience." | Graphics 7/20 Playability 43/50 | Sound 8/10 Lastability 18/20 | 76% | Last updated on 2002-09-01 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 3 days. | | | | |
| | | | | Matt "This Is A Very Good Game, But Not Great For One Player Action. While The Graphics Are Undeniable, The Voices Leave Some To Be Desired. I Haven't Seen Audio This Poor Since The Days Of Sega Genesis Football Games. A "tango" Will Be Called Out After He's Already Been Shot, He'll Be Called Dead As Your Already Walking Over His Corpse, Etc. Also, The Team Members Move Rather Slowly And Occasionally Get Left Behind Because They're Caught Behind A Tree Or Rock. I Would Think That With The "fire At Will" Command On, They Would Smoke Enemies As Soon As They See Them ... Not Always The Case. I Found Myself Questioning Whether Or Not I Had To Have My Sights Locked On Them Before They Would Shoot At A Distance. Other Than These Small Things, Which Can Be Worked Around, It Is A Very Well Done Game. Quite Possibly Deserving Of "game Of The Year" Title, But Certainly Not A Shoe In. Again, This Is Only For The One Player Mode. As For The Internet Play ... We'll Just Have To Wait And See." | Graphics 18/20 Playability 33/50 | Sound 8/10 Lastability 11/20 | 70% | Last updated on 2002-08-30 and based on views after owning/playing for approx 2 days. | | | | |
