Aidan Crook "I Can Describe This Game In One Word-boredom. At First Glance It Looks Amazing, As The Graphics Are Amongst The Best I Have Ever Seen. However, Very Quickly The Game Becomes Boring And Repetitive. All The Missions Seem To Merge Together Into One Shooting Mess, And The Gameplay Seemed Non-existent. I Found This Surprising, As I Was A Major Fan Of Rogue Squadron On The N64, And Assumed This Would Be Similar. However, Sadly This Game Is Lacking The Spark And Excitement That Made Rogue Squadron So Fun, Leaving A Pretty, But Essentially Hollow, Game."

The Space-based Levels Are Beautiful, But It's Not Until You See The Land Based Missions That You Realize What A Work Of Art This Game Is. Not Only Is The Graphics Engine Pumping Out Realistic Sprawling Landscapes, But It's Also Throwing Around Hundreds Of Detailed Enemy And Allied Units, Each One Of Them Lighting Up The Landscape With Laser Fire. Some Of The Missions Are Awe-inspiring, And Should Send Goosebumps Down The Spine Of Any Self-respecting Star Wars Fan. The Sheer Number Of Tanks And Fighters Engaged In Battle Is Incredible, And At Times It's Very Easy To Feel Overwhelmed, But That's The Whole Thrill Of The Game, Heart Pounding Action That Makes Your Knuckles Turn White From Squeezing The Pad To Hard. Like Many Other Ps2 Titles Starfighter Is Very Short. You Could Easily Complete It In One Day, But It Has Enough Extras And Hidden Bonuses To Keep You Coming Back For A Few Weeks. It Has Been A Long Time Coming, A Quality Star Wars Title!"

Very Poor - an embarrassment to the console
