	"Could this be the most over-hyped game in videogame history..? With all of this attention, the game will have to be legendary just to come close to expectations, but after seeing it in action, we think that maybe, just maybe, it is..! "

Remember the name of 'Hideo Kojima' - he's the writer, producer and director of the original Metal Gear Solid videogame and is currently hard at work on the PlayStation2 sequel. After seeing all of the recent footage of this game, we feel very strongly that his name will be quoted alongside people like George Lucas as someone who changed the direction of the entertainment industry in a dramatic way. You see, the original MGS was as much an 'experience' as it was a game. Even now after five years of PlayStation development, it still stands as one of the very best games ever produced on the console. The reasons why are many… An absorbing storyline, tons of atmosphere, wonderful intelligence, groundbreaking visuals, all wrapped up in an adventure that broke new grounds in realism. Unlike most modern games where a single software engine is used to drive the whole game and then tweaked in various ways to make each level slightly harder, or different, than the previous one - Metal Gear Solid took a movie-like approach by introducing many different styles of gameplay, but then only using them in small segments of the whole game. From a programming point of view this is sheer lunacy, as each new style requires a completely new engine to be programmed, but from a players perspective it made the game feel more realistic and involving and constantly pushed you onwards to progress the storyline and discover something new. Due to the overall development time of the sequel being far shorter than the original game, we fully expect that many of the same styles of gameplay will be repeated - or should we say enhanced - however, this would not be such a bad thing, so long as we don't end up with the same game with better graphics..!   Coming Soon
